LOCATION AND FACILITIES

Great Plains Baptist Divinity School is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a beautiful city of approximately 200,000. It is just 12 miles west of Minnesota, 6 miles west of Iowa, and 350 miles east of the famous Mount Rushmore Memorial of the Presidents. Sioux Falls is positioned on the Big Sioux River with the Falls located near the downtown area. The school uses the facilities of Empire Baptist Temple.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Sioux Empire area is one of the best job markets in the upper Great Plains, and Sioux Falls was listed as the number one city in the United States to live in by Money Magazine in 1992 and in 1995 Site Selection Magazine listed Sioux Falls in the top ten cities in the world for industrial employment development.   • Sioux Falls ranks FIRST among US cities with populations between 50,000 and 177,000 as the best place for business and careers, according to the Forbes magazine—for the years of 2004, 2005, 2006.
  • Sioux Falls was named one of the 100 best communities for young people in 2005.
  • The July 2004 issue of Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine placed Sioux Falls 8th best in their annual tax survey.
  • Inc. Magazine rated Sioux Falls in 2004 as #5 of small cities!
  • CNN/Money Magazine rated Sioux Falls in the Top 20 list coming in at #9 with a 2.9% unemployment rate. The Sioux Empire area is also listed as having the lowest crime rate of most cities in the US. It is a very good place to raise a family!
STUDENT HOUSING

Great Plains Baptist Divinity School does provide dormitories on a limited basis. Every effort is made to aid students in finding adequate housing. We are surrounded with ample individual houses and apartments available for rent at a cost relative to our area income.
